MISSION STATEMENT
To provide quality financial information, services and technology to the public, City Departments and decision makers in accordance with legal requirements, ethical financial practices and current industry standards.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
To assist in the preparation, review, and approval of the City's annual budget. To manage the collection of City revenues in the most effective and efficient manner. To pay all vendors timely and accurately. To administer the Investment Portfolio of the City in a manner consistent with sound, prudent, intelligent and conservative financial practices and investment policies. To provide citywide purchasing, warehousing, mail, telecommunications, and computer network support services. To provide for the issuance of dog licenses and collection of license fees to defray the cost of animal control and animal shelter care. To procure all equipment, supplies and services using integrity and prudence in obtaining the lowest cost commensurate with quality needed.
SERVICES AND LOCATION
The City of Norwalk's Finance Department, located in Rooms 5 and 6 of Norwalk City Hall, has three organizational Divisions: Financial Services, Administrative Services and Computer Systems Support.

Purchasing, Inventory, Warehouse, Supplies, Telecommunications, Auctions
Administer Citywide computer network, coordinate interface with City's Webmaster, coordinate interfaces with specialized computer systems and programs
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Alternating Fridays
City Hall is closed on weekends and alternating Fridays
