Athletic Leagues

The City of Norwalk Recreation and Park Services Department offers a variety of athletic leagues for youths and adults. To view the leagues offered, please see the current Seasonal Schedule of Activities in the Community Activites section below.

Community Activities

The Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex (NASC) is located at 13000 Clarkdale Avenue. Everyone is invited to tour our facility and see why the NASC is a recreational and arts facility the whole family will enjoy. The Cultural Arts Center offers a variety of special events, instructional classes, a full musical rehearsal facility, and the Mary Paxon Art Gallery. The Sports Center offers a wide variety of sports and fitness programs for all ages. Facilities include basketball gym, boxing room, racquetball courts, and an exercise room with state-of-the-art equipment. The NASC is open to all Norwalk residents, those employed in Norwalk (proof required), and non-residents (additional fee will apply). The spacious Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex is convenient and affordable. Aquatic Pavillion

Join a class, work out on your own, or just jump in and enjoy the Norwalk Aquatic Pavilion. Located a Norwalk Park, the Aquatic Pavilion is a state-ofthe-art facility providing the community with opportunities for fun and learning. This is a great place to bring the family to learn to swim or just to play. The Aquatic Pavilion is handicapped accessible, and the water is maintained at a very comfortable temperature.

Norwalk Golf Center

The Norwalk Golf Center is owned, operated, and maintained by the City of Norwalk. It offers a challenging 9-hole, par 3 golf course, warm-up driving range, and a putting green. The facility is ideal for golfers of all ages and skill levels. Golf professionals are available upon request for instruction. Book your tournament today by contacting the Norwalk Golf Center.

Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex

Have you been thinking about getting fit, starting an exercise program, and living a healthier lifestyle? Then join the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex (NASC), which is one of the most comprehensive and affordable fitness centers in the region. Membership entitles patrons use of the weight room, basketball gymnasium, four indoor racquetball/handball courts, and ping-pong table. Personal trainers are onsite to assist at no extra cost. Teen Center

Visit the new and improved Teen Center. We are offering all types of school work assistance that will be sure to interest you. We can help you improve your study skills as well as help you get your homework done. Computer! Yes, we now have nice computers. We want you to be successful academically so we are providing you with as many learning tools as we can. The Teen Center also has workshops, tournaments, and many more activities! Stop by the Teen Center and pick up a monthly calendar and Newsletter or join the Teen Alliance Program to get valuable information mailed to you. This program is free. No registration is necessary. Teen Alliance Program - TAP (Ages 13-18)

Join TAP and learn valuable working skills, develop social skills, inter-personal skills, and gain a sense of accomplishment, all while giving back to your community. You will have an opportunity to volunteer at City-wide special events and a variety of activities in Norwalk. This is also a great way to serve volunteer hours for school or church. The Teen Alliance Program General Membership meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex from 5:00-6:00 p.m. For more information on meetings or TAP events, please call 929-4260.

Recreation Environment Adapted for Children with Handicaps

RAT/RAAD (Ages 17 & Over)
Recreation Adapted for Teens & Adults with Disabilities

This program is designed for children, teens, and adults with developmental, physical, and/or learning disabilities. Participants are encouraged to maximize their abilities through recreation activities with a social emphasis. Recreation staff at a 1:6 ratio conducts the program. All participants must have a current medical/emergency form on file with the department in order to participate.

Although group homes are encouraged to participate, an attendant or program aide must remain to assist as needed. Activities are held at Gerdes Park, 14700 Gridley Road, unless otherwise noted. To register for programs or to be added to the mailing list, please call (562) 929-5922, or visit/call the Therapeutic Program staff at Gerdes Park, (562) 929-5611 during operating hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
