Transportation Department / Norwalk Transit System (NTS)

General Information
Norwalk Transit System (NTS) has been operating fixed-route and paratransit service in Los Angeles County since 1974. Our fixed route operation serves an area, which includes the City of Norwalk and portions of Artesia, Bellflower, Cerritos, La Mirada, La Habra, Whittier and Unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. Norwalk Transit's paratransit Dial-A-Ride service operates within the jurisdictional boundary of the City of Norwalk. NTS provides bus service between the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs Transportation Center and the Metro Green Line Studebaker station in Norwalk. This service implemented by NTS provides direct interconnectivity between rail stations (Metrolink and Metro Green light rail). Metrolink (commuter rail service between Orange County and Los Angeles) provides weekday train service to the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs Transportation Center.

Effective June 1, 2012 - The parking permit fees at the City of Norwalk / Santa Fe Springs Transportation Center Metrolink Station will be increased as follows:

Effective April 1, 2012: The online purchases of all monthly parking permits for the Norwalk/Santa Fe Springs Metrolink Station will be managed by iParq.

Please visit https://nwlksfs.thepermitstore.com and follow the easy steps to re-enroll for your monthly parking permit. This site will be available to accept enrollment on Monday, March 19, 2012.

Rio Hondo College "GO RIO" Program
Beginning in Fall 2011, GO RIO will again include five (5) transit partners: Metro, Foothill Transit, Norwalk Transit, Montebello Bus Lines and Sunshine Shuttle.

All full-time students in good financial standing (no outstanding debts) are eligible for a discounted transit pass that is honored by all of the above transit operators. Full-time students are students who register for and maintain 12 units or more during the entire semester. Students who drop below 12 units at any point during the semester are not eligible.

Norwalk Transit accepts the GO RIO pass Monday through Friday only.
